Foam surrounds are the flexible ring that suspends the cone in the basket, allowing it to move freely while sealing the enclosure. They're the original-fit choice for most hi-fi, vintage and home cinema speakers from the 1970s through to the 2000s, offering a lighter, more compliant surface than rubber that suits the lower excursion and gentler damping most domestic drivers were designed around. Rubber is generally better suited to car audio subwoofers and high-excursion PA drivers that need to withstand more movement and moisture, so if your speaker came from the factory with foam, replacing like-for-like is usually the right call. Our foam surrounds cover the common range from around 3.5" up to 15" outer diameter, with multiple OD/ID combinations stocked at most sizes to match different basket profiles.
Every size is available as a surround-only replacement if you're comfortable re-using your existing glue and cone, or as a full repair kit with two surrounds, T7000 adhesive, a brush and instructions included. When measuring, go by the outer edge of the basket (the metal or plastic frame), not the cone itself, since the surround sits between the two and the basket diameter is what determines the correct size. If you're unsure which size fits your speaker, drop us a message with your make and model and we'll help you find the right match.
