Collection: Dust Caps

The dust cap is the small dome or cone at the centre of a speaker driver, and it does more than keep debris out of the voice coil gap. On many drivers it's bonded directly to the cone and forms part of the moving assembly, so a split, dented or missing dust cap can throw off the cone's rigidity and colour the sound, particularly in the midrange. Cracking is common on foam and paper caps as they age, and a knock or a poke from an inquisitive finger can dent or puncture them permanently. We stock replacement dust caps from 2.5" up to 8" to suit the range of cone sizes we supply surrounds for.

These are supplied separately from our surround kits, since not every repair needs a new dust cap, but they're a natural add-on if yours is damaged or you're doing a full cosmetic refresh alongside a surround replacement. Match the cap diameter to the hole left by the original, measuring across the cone opening rather than the outer basket.
