ESS Laboratories is best remembered for its Heil Air Motion Transformer tweeters, but the mid and bass drivers in models like the HD-1500/HD-315 series relied on conventional foam surrounds that have not aged as gracefully. Original foam typically becomes hard and brittle after a couple of decades, cracking away from the cone and letting air leak past the seal, which shows up as a loose, buzzy or weak bass. We stock foam repair kits sized for ESS drivers from 6.5" up to the larger 15" woofers used in the HD-1500 and HD-315 models.

Each kit includes two surrounds, T7000 adhesive, a brush and step-by-step instructions, enough to refoam a full pair of speakers. It's a practical way to keep a classic ESS system running at its original spec without chasing down increasingly scarce replacement drivers.
